Nicole Roberts is a naturopathic medical graduate, who previously saw patients at the Robert Schad Naturopathic Clinic and Brampton Naturopathic Teaching Clinic (out of Brampton Civic Hospital) through internship at the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine in Toronto, ON. She is a BSc (Hons) graduate of the University of Guelph where she studied Nutrition and Nutraceutical Science.
Nicole acted as president of the Naturopathic Student Association at CCNM and took great pleasure in working with the students, faculty and administration to create a premier educational site for naturopathic education. She formerly worked closely with the Canadian Association of Naturopathic Doctors, the country’s professional association for licensed NDs that works to bring awareness of naturopathic medicine to the public, insurance companies and federal government.
While individuality is a big focus when treating a patient one-on-one, Nicole is also very passionate about the value of community and environmental sustainability. In the end, we can only be as healthy as the world around us and nature, love and support all play into this. Nicole continuously creates projects to enhance the feeling of community, especially around the field of health and of course, good food.
First off, Hi! I’m really excited you are here. I first came to naturopathic medicine as a teen with a history of medical issues; severe eczema, asthma, allergies, OCD, anxiety and anorexia nervosa. After navigating the pitfalls of conventional medicine and being told nothing could be done for the eczema that covered my whole body, I landed in an ND’s office and began a journey that led to my future career. I believe greatly in the role of naturopathic medicine in treating the root cause of chronic issues and promoting prevention of future disease, while recognizing the vital role western medicine and pharmaceutical industry plays in modern medicine.
I view health as an individual journey of both body and mind that lasts our entire lives. As an avid researcher, I come into practice with an evidence-based mindset in nutritional and nutraceutical science, and have also seen the deepest healing come through inner work; psychological, emotional, mental and spiritual. I firmly believes that honouring your true self (even as it changes, and no matter how weird it is!) is a fundamental piece of lasting health in every way and I strive to create a community where openness and comfort comes easily. With a firm stance on body positivity, I believe a healthy life comes in all shapes and sizes and should be relatively easy, fun and not require a list of absolute DO and DON’Ts; it is about finding our own balance. I take a particular interest in the following conditions, though have been trained as a general physician and see all patients with a variety of concerns.
